March Break Camp! Last year's summer camp was such a success,  the Port Williams Park Committee will run a March Break camp at the PW Community Centre March 15th – 19th.  Once again led by Krystol Bell, this is an excellent opportunity to get your little ones out of the house in a safe, happy and active environment.  This will be a half day camp (9am - noon) for children, 3-8 years of age.  Cost for the week is $75 and $50 per additional child per household.   All proceeds go towards the park.  Space in limited so please reserve yours by calling Lia at 542-9648 or send an email to, lia@pwpark.ca

Recreation/Teaching/Childcare in your future?  The above noted camp is a perfect opportunity for YOUR university/high school student (aged 13 and older) to volunteer their time to help out with March break camp.  Camp leader, Krystol Bell, will provide you with a daily plan to ensure smooth sailing for an organised, fun week.   If you are interested in helping out for the entire week, or just a few days, please contact Lia (see above).   This will look great on your resume!

VON Annapolis Valley will be holding their St. Paddy’s Day Lunch Bunch on March 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church located on Belcher Street in Kentville.  Beginning at 12 noon a wonderful lunch will be served at a cost of $7.00.  Please phone 678-1733 to register your attendance.


The Loyal Workers will be holding their next Soup & Chowder          luncheon in Lockwood Hall on Wednesday, March 17th from  11:30am – 1:00pm.  Free will offering.   Take out is available.  If anyone would like to donate or help in any way please contact Myrtle, Linda or Ruth.













The Welcome Wagon Bridal Showcase will be held at the Wandlyn Inn, Coldbrook on March 28th, 2010.  Doors will open at 12 pm.  It is free to registered brides and one guest.  There will be a fashion show, many sponsors, free gift bags for each bride and door prizes.    The grand door prize is two nights accommodation at the magnificent Beech Hill Bed & Breakfast in Port Williams.  Come and enjoy a fun filled and informative afternoon.

The next Grief Share, a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of a loved one, begins on Thursday, March 11th at 7:00pm.  For more information and/or a leaflet, please see the church noticeboard.


Camerata XARA Young Women's Choir will present a unique program called "Tree of Life”, exploring our life and growth through the metaphor of the tree.   Featuring a collaborative work with poet-laureate and spoken word artist Shauntay Grant as well as beautiful stage sculptures by visual artist Sarah Irwin, this concert will be a visual and aural feast!  Saturday, March 20th at 7:30 PM, St. Matthew's United Church, 1479 Barrington St, Halifax. Tickets: $20/$10 available online at www.xara.ca. Call 902-877-5550 for information.


The Wolfville Baptist Church will be holding a Turkey Dinner  and Silent Auction on March 26th, 6:30 for 7:00pm, at the Kentville Fire Hall.  Following the dinner and auction there will be a concert.  Tickets are $25 with a $15 tax receipt.  The deadline for purchasing tickets is March 12th.  Tickets can be purchased by calling Wolfville Baptist Church 542-5524, or Bev Richardson 542-3760.
